Public Workshops

Private Custom Trainings (1-3 people)

In-House Trainings

Post-Training Support

1. Level 1: MEETING GRAPHICS 101

This is a two-day foundational training in the base underlying graphic skills – skills that are used in the four main applications of visual meeting work (custom chart work, graphic recording, graphic facilitation and graphic coaching).

With 12+ years as a Graphic Facilitator and Coach, Christina masterfully breaks this unique and powerful methodology into bite-sized chunks – demystifying and, by the end, empowering you to DO IT YOURSELF (you’ll be amazed at what you can do, even if you have art phobia!).  This work isn’t about “art”, it’s about the STRATEGIC use of visuals for highly effective group processes (some of which involve basic icons and drawing – not art!).

Whether you are a facilitator, coach, trainer, project manager, or other type of leader (and want to add graphics to your toolkit) – OR you are coming up as a scribe or graphic recorder … you are GUARANTEED to takeaway practical and useful things YOU can do.  (You’ll also leave with a BIG smile on your face as this workshop is fun, fun, fun!).   BOOK EARLY – this one always sells out with attendees from around the WORLD.

Offered Back-to-Back with The Graphics Bootcamp for those traveling from afar.

Date of Next Offering: May 21-22, 2008 (SOLD OUT) and Nov. 5-6, 2008

Location: Victoria, British Columbia, Canada

2. Level 2: THE GRAPHICS BOOTCAMP

The second phase of your graphics training – where you practice, experiment and majorly improve your basic custom chart work, graphic recording and graphic facilitation skills – and integrate the business and marketing sides of working visually.

Over two-days you further hone your strengths and weaknesses and define (and accept!) your personal style.  The Graphics Bootcamp is stuffed with live demonstrations, oodles of ‘at-the-wall’ practice, plus plenty of heart-to-heart guidance on how to SELL and OVERCOME client resistance (whether you’re an internal or external practitioner) - including the internet and other marketing strategies Christina has personally used to grow her own successful practices.

And, as AN ADDED BONUS,  you go through a miniature SHIFT-IT Retreat (where you meet your Future Graphic Self, draft a Personal Vision, flip your worst resistance, and conclude with an Action Plan of next steps) – experiencing the deep insights of graphic coaching for yourself.  Leave feeling pleasantly tired, surprisingly pleased with yourself and with a NEW and IMPROVED level of confidence, knowledge and expertise.

Date of Next Offering: May 23-24, 2008 (SOLD OUT) and Nov. 7-8, 2008

Location: Victoria, British Columbia, Canada

Please Note: Meeting Graphics 101 is a pre-requisite (or demonstrated equivalent experience via samples of work) as the agenda design is built on the foundation laid by the previous training.

* The Graphics Bootcamp is scheduled back-to-back with Meeting Graphics 101 for the convenience of out-of-town travelers. It is not necessary to take them back-to-back, you may take a break and register for the Bootcamp at a later date (however there is no guarantee that it will still be offered at that time!).

6. SHIFT-IT TELE-GROUPS

In addition to her expertise in Graphic Recording and Graphic Facilitation, Christina is an international pioneer in the niche field of Graphic Coaching --- via her SHIFT-IT Graphic Coaching Process®.

This 7-stage visual process (with a backbone of 17 graphic templates) assists individuals, couples and business partners … in defining and creating a life that suits them best.  Over the course of 7 conference calls (and homework in-between) you work step-by-step through this deeply personal thinking method to define your Personal Vision, uncover and break through your limiting beliefs, negative programming and self-sabotage, to create a forward-moving Action Plan.

Having been introduced to Graphic Coaching and the SHIFT-IT philosophy (laden with Law of Attraction principles) in the Meeting Graphics 101 and Graphic Bootcamp, participants often choose to continue their personal development and exposure to Graphic Coaching techniques via these popular coaching groups.

7. Merkley’s Manifestation Mastermind

Do you know what you REALLY, REALLY want but are having problems with manifestation? Are you curious about or perhaps already well read about  Law of Attraction --- but can’t quite get it to really work?  Then this ADVANCED virtual coaching group is for you!

In this 90-Day Mastermind Group you take a quantum leap in understanding the practicalities of The Law of Attraction (the underlying meta-physical principles that Christina used to attract her own success).  Learn what LOA is (and what it is NOT), how to PROPERLY align with it (as opposed to against it) and how to really IMPLEMENT it for tangible results in both your professional and personal life.

Along the way, Christina reveals her Personal Rolodex containing THE exact resources she used during her own work/life shift (including excellent teachers, other recommended products and services, and technology options … with a particular emphasis on internet marketing --- the necessary tools for in-the-know solo entrepreneurs and small business owners).  A great blend of Mind, Body and Spirit to SHIFT your vibe, meet like-minded people, and manifest a successful, prosperous and personally-satisfying LIFESTYLE.  You really can HAVE IT ALL!!!

* This is a great option for past Meeting Graphics 101 and Graphics Bootcamp participants, if they are open to and already somewhat familiar with Law of Attraction principles … if not, the SHIFT-IT Tele-Group is a better starting place.  Please note that not all participants in the Mastermind will be building graphics-related lives and businesses … they come from a diversity of backgrounds with varying goals and visions (although given Christina’s graphic specialty – there is guaranteed to always be some!).

Date of Next Offering: April 6 - June 22, 2008

8. GRAPHIC COACHING / SHIFT-IT TRAINING

Christina is not currently training other coaches in her innovative graphic coaching methods (beyond basic skills that are offered in the Interactive Graphics 101 workshop). However it is anticipated that a Graphic Coaching Clinic and products to empower other coaches to use SHIFT-IT products with their own client base, will be developed... sometime!

To help prepare coaches who are interested to learn this powerful and unique coaching process, familiarity with basic graphic skills is recommended (the Interactive Graphics 101 workshop or equivalent experience).

As well, attendance in an in-person SHIFT-IT Retreat or Coaching Group is recommended (in order to effectively lead this process, one must first experience it at the individual level as a participant working through their own life process). It will also be expected that you have completed or are in the process of completing coach training.

Email Christina today to express your interest and to be included on special short list.

Sarah McKerlich, Teacher, Victoria, BC

"Christina's graphic facilitation work takes coaching to a new level of expression and connection with clients. I just attended a local workshop she hosted (after reading her article in the CTI newsletter) --- truly a valuable way of expressing ideas and working with clients. One of the most interesting courses I have ever taken. The sky is the limit as to how I will be applying graphics to my practice. I've already had two very successful experiences with clients using what she taught me, and it's only been two weeks since the workshop!"

Shannan Brown, ACC, Coach, Campbell River, BC Canada

"The whole session was excellent. Well thought out, good pacing, good mix of talk and hands on, useful resources - and Christina was very encouraging and helpful. She also provides post-workshop coaching and has shown a real interest in her students' progress. Great to have a generous pro like her here in Canada. My confidence is growing and I'm stepping out as a graphic recorder and facilitator. Exciting!"

Avril Orloff, Graphic Recorder, Vancouver, British Columbia

"Thank you so much for the most excellent training. I learned so much. The one-on-one time with you to draw on your vast experience with graphic recording and especially graphic facilitation - priceless. I learned so much AND came home with a product that I can use right way. My clients are going to be thrilled when I show them what I can do for them thanks to my training with you. Put me down for your graphic recording bootcamp session in the spring and, I'm referring you to my colleagues!"

Judi Adams, Adams & Adams Consulting Inc., San Diego. USA

GRAPHICS BOOTCAMP (LEVEL 2 Training)

“Christina, you are fantastic! This Bootcamp really took me to my next level in graphic facilitation and recording. My learning curve is now more like a straight line – up! Expanded my skills in drawing, template design and will support my business offering to my clients through my ability to increase my variety of services”.

Pattie Porter, San Antonio, TX www.conflictconnections.com

“For facilitators who are looking to shake it up, take it up a notch and expand their skill sets … this is the course. And for those of you who feel constrained by flip chart paper and single color pen use – break loose. The ratio of ‘theory transfer’ to practical application / hands on trial was PERFECT! Wonderful to witness another professional’s expertise (Christina’s a wonderful facilitator)”.

Sue Davis, Internal Consultant, Regional Health Authority, Vancouver, BC

“Working at-the-wall and the synergy of working in groups too – worked well. I was comfortable and felt welcomed and supported throughout. I was able to let my inner critic take the time off.”

Rueben Sanchez, Internal Corporate Consultant, Phoenix, Arizona

Erik Hanson, Speaker/Facilitator, Extreme Kindness Crew, www.extremekindness.com

“Was a great session – so many positives. Among others: great group dynamics, good mix of demo and hands-on, good coverage of different aspects of the field, great resources (the handbook is a treasure!). I really appreciate your hospitality and mentorship”.

Avril Orloff, Graphic Recorder, Vancouver, BC

“Personal, focused attention that will take you to the next level and beyond with your graphic facilitation and recording skills”.

“Excellent learning experience with an organized, supportive, creative and generous facilitator! Every moment and activity added to an outstanding professional learning investment for me”.

Cheryl King, Grande Prairie, AB, www.greenleafconsulting.ca

"I have been working as a partner in a graphic facilitation team since 2000, but I have never felt confident enough in my drawing skills to 'go it alone'. Christina's Graphic Bootcamp was just what I needed! Meaningful, hands-on activities, great tips and tons of genuine and personable coaching from Christina made this workshop the catalyst I needed. In just 3 short months since taking Graphics Bootcamp, I have impressed and 'wowed' repeat and new clients with my visual summaries of client teleconference meetings, project summary murals and I recently mentored graphic recording of a large health conference in Toronto! This summer I have several graphic projects on the board and am now eager to delve in rather than fearful of whether or not I can do it. Thanks Christina, for helping me to realize my dreams! I highly recommend your workshop!"

Laurie Benn, Visual Practitioner, Medicine Hat, AB, www.positiveculture.ca

“Christina is a supportive and generous teacher. She created a ‘container’ that made self-expression, self-discovery and self-exposure stimulating, safe and fun! I can’t wait to see what my graphic colleagues create next.”

“Perfectly paced learning - extremely valuable beyond explanation. A powerful tool every teacher, facilitator and coach should have.
Thank you so very much Christina.”

Daniel Scott, Soaring Sucess, Victoria, BC

“Life story was ‘great’ experience! Loved the demos then actually doing the same ourselves. Small participant count made it comfortable - wonderful opportunity with colleagues from across the world.”

Jan Spaulding, W.K. Kellogg Foundation, Battle Creek, MI

“Rich experience, solid preparation and presentation. Seeing all the amazing results of the group. A very solid and well-balanced training experience. Christina is a VERY convincing/persuasive professional and trainer.”

Suzanne Hoogwater, Legal Visuals, Netherlands and Denver, CO

“Meeting other people from all over the world, with different goals yet similar positive energy & a desire to be a force for change. I am leaving this place charged and inspired to map out EVERYTHING - exactly the information and experience that i needed to catalyze a major visionary shift in my work!”

Beth Sarver, Artist/Educator/Community Builder, ROYAL Project (Raising Our Youth As Leaders), Seattle, WA

PRIVATE TRAININGS

"My colleague and I had a wonderful graphics training with Christina. I was absolutely astounded by what we could do by the end of the
afternoon. It was so fun papering up the walls and learning the tricks. Much of the work was demystified, to my relief; Christina and her materials are amazing!"

T.C. Waisman, Leadership Coach & Consultant, Vancouver, BC

"Flying in for a private two-day workshop with Christina was great (and so was the whale watching off Victoria). I was able to readily apply what she taught me. Two weeks later I was using some recommended templates and created some of my own. Her process forced me to re-think the way I have been doing executive planning retreats and helped me refine my agendas to produce a more coherent product."

Doug Thompson, Thompson Strategy Consulting, Virginia, U.S.A.

"My HR Director and I came for customized training in July 2006. I had been creating more opportunities to use graphics in my work but had encountered a confidence and skill barrier. To that end, Christina is an excellent teacher and coach. She has a solid base of organizational development, systems thinking and integrating graphics. I loved the engaging “at the wall” practice, the practical tips and effective how-to's. Her studio is a wonderful learning lab. With her help and continued inspiration I'm using my skills in greater ways. I highly recommend working with Christina in both a coach and teacher capacity."

Haley Green, Training & Development Dept., Edmonds Community College, Lynnwood, Washington

"Great coach. Positive & encouraging coaching style. Lovely location. An adventure in learning. 2 days of focused attention - Christina broke her methods down for me into manageable pieces and segments. I left with greater confidence in my ability to become a successful graphic facilitator. Within days of returning I had completed three of my action steps, drafted a 'test' company name and got two graphics-related projects done."

Suzanne Keely, Graphic Facilitator 'wannabe', Milwaukee, Wisconsin, U.S.A.

"I contracted Christina to do a Meeting Graphics 101 training for our urban planning department. It was an excellent investment - we implemented her methods immediately into our downtown planning process and then our Parks Master Planning process with awesome results. Lots of raves from participants and staff as this new way of working really spiced things up for us too!
Highly recommend."

Lindsay Chase, MCIP, Senior Planner, City of Victoria
